Translation for convenience. This English version is provided as a courtesy. The German version is the legally binding one: in case of any doubt, difference or contradiction, the German wording prevails. Read the binding German version (Deutsch).
1. Who these terms are with
These terms of use (the “Terms”) form an agreement between you and Kristmann Technologies, owner (sole proprietor / Einzelunternehmer) Claudius Kristmann, Michael-Ludwig-Rohrer-Straße 1/1, 76437 Rastatt, Germany (“we”, “us”), the provider of the app Kanban Planner (the “App”). By downloading, installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. What the App does
Kanban Planner is a task and project manager for iPhone, iPad and Mac. You create plans, divide them into buckets (columns) and keep cards in them with checklists, dates, priorities, colours, labels and attachments. On top of that come My Day, an automatic week plan, goals, recurring tasks, widgets, a read-only GitHub integration, and an MCP server through which AI assistants such as Claude Code can read and edit your plans. Processing happens on your device; syncing runs exclusively through your private iCloud database.
3. Licence to use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to download and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control — in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement for licensed applications. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the App, except where the law permits it.
4. Requirements
The App requires an Apple device running iOS 18, iPadOS 18 or macOS 15 or later. Syncing between devices requires iCloud and an Apple Account; the GitHub integration requires a GitHub account; the Claude integration requires an MCP-capable client. It is your responsibility to make sure your devices meet these requirements.
5. Free tier, trial and the one-time Pro purchase
- The App is free to use. The free tier permanently provides one plan with up to three buckets and up to five cards per bucket, including the kanban board, checklists, dates, priorities, colours, My Day and iCloud syncing.
- For seven days after installation, all features are unlocked. After that the App simply continues in its free tier. No payment obligation arises, nothing needs to be cancelled, and content you already created stays visible and editable — only creating beyond the limits of the free tier is then blocked.
- Pro is a one-time purchase at the price shown in the App Store (currently €9.99). It is not a subscription: there is no renewal, no recurring charge and nothing to cancel. Pro unlocks in particular the Claude integration through the MCP server, automatic week planning, recurring tasks, goals, the GitHub integration, widgets, and unlimited plans, buckets and cards.
- The purchase is handled entirely by Apple and your Apple Account. The purchase contract for the App is concluded between you and Apple; we process no payments and receive no payment details.
- The purchase applies to the Apple Account it was made with and can be activated on further devices using the same Apple Account via “Restore purchases”. Whether and to what extent Family Sharing applies depends on your App Store settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies; we can neither collect nor refund payments. Statutory rights — in particular warranty rights and any right of withdrawal against Apple as your contractual partner — remain unaffected.
6. Permitted use
You undertake to use the App lawfully and in particular not to:
- infringe third-party rights, such as copyright, personality or data protection rights, by placing other people’s content in cards, attachments or notes;
- use the App for unlawful, harmful or fraudulent purposes;
- circumvent technical restrictions, security measures or the unlocking of Pro features; or
- interfere with the operation or integrity of the App.
If you place personal data of third parties in the App, you are yourself responsible for processing it lawfully.
7. Your content
The plans, cards, checklists, attachments and other content you create with the App (“your content”) belong to you. We claim no rights in it and have no access to it: it sits on your device and — if you use syncing — in your private iCloud database. You are responsible for your content and for backing it up. The details are in the privacy policy.
8. AI integration through the MCP server
The App optionally provides an MCP server through which an AI assistant you set up (such as Claude Code) can read and change your plans. You establish that connection, and you decide which client you give it to. Content transmitted to an AI provider in the process is subject to that provider’s terms and privacy policy; we have no influence over it. The MCP server is deliberately built so that it cannot delete cards. We are not responsible for the consequences of changes an assistant makes on your instruction.
9. Our intellectual property
The App itself — including its software, design, brand and underlying technology — belongs to us or our licensors (including Apple for its frameworks) and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. These Terms grant you no rights in it beyond the limited licence under clause 3.
10. Third-party services
The App uses Apple frameworks and services (among them SwiftData, CloudKit, StoreKit, WidgetKit) and — if you set them up — the GitHub API and an MCP-capable AI client. Use of those services is additionally subject to the terms and privacy policies of the respective providers. We accept no responsibility for third-party services we do not control.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without express or implied assurances. We do not warrant that the App will run uninterrupted or error-free, or that the automatic week plan will produce any particular result. Do not rely on the App alone where legally or commercially critical deadlines are concerned — check important dates independently. Mandatory statutory warranty and liability rules remain unaffected.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage, consequential damage, lost profit or loss of data arising from the use or unusability of the App. We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and in all cases of mandatory statutory liability (including the German Product Liability Act, Produkthaftungsgesetz). In cases of simple negligence we are liable only for breach of a material contractual obligation, and then limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract.
13. Term and termination
You may stop using the App at any time and delete it. We may prohibit use if you materially breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature are intended to survive (such as those on intellectual property, warranty and liability) continue to apply afterwards. The one-time Pro purchase is unaffected by uninstalling and can be restored later.
14. Governing law
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (UN-Kaufrecht). If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may adapt these Terms when the App or the legal situation changes. The version in force at any time is published on this page and the date above is updated. If you continue to use the App after the changes take effect, the amended Terms are deemed accepted.
